Artist Statement: "I feel emotionally passionate about the subjects I paint. I am one fourth Yaqui Indian and three-fourths Hispanic. I was raised in the mining towns of White Pine County, Nevada. My memories of my childhood have inspired me to paint the Indian still life, western and wildlife subjects. For me, painting the old Indian pottery, old houses, Mail Pouch barns, shacks, and cars is a way of preserving the past on canvas and paper. If I can bring enjoyment to others from my work, I feel I have accomplished what God has in mind for me."
